Understand the chart

What a birth chart holds.

Planets describe the actors.

The Sun, Moon, and planets represent distinct drives and functions—from identity and emotion to communication, desire, effort, and responsibility.

Signs describe how they move.

Each planet falls in one of twelve zodiac signs, adding a style, temperament, and set of tendencies to that part of the chart.

Houses describe where life happens.

When the birth time is known, twelve houses orient the chart to a birthplace and connect its symbolism to areas such as home, work, partnership, and vocation.

Aspects describe the relationships.

The angles between planets show where different parts of the chart cooperate, intensify, or create useful tension.

Why birth time matters.

The sky keeps moving throughout the day. Birth time establishes the horizon, which determines the Rising sign, Midheaven, and house cusps. Even a modest time difference can shift those placements.

Why birthplace matters.

The same instant looks different from different places on Earth. Birthplace provides the latitude, longitude, and historical time zone needed to orient the chart accurately.

Birth chart questions, answered.

Is a natal chart the same as a birth chart?

A birth chart and a natal chart are two names for the same thing: a map of the planets, signs, houses, and aspects for one birth moment and place.

What if I do not know my exact birth time?

An exact time is needed for the Rising sign, Midheaven, and houses. If you do not know it, Birthprint still shows the planetary signs using noon as a neutral approximation and clearly omits the time-sensitive parts.

Why does birthplace matter?

Birthplace locates the horizon and sky orientation at the birth moment. It also lets the calculation resolve the historical local time zone accurately.

How is this different from a full Birthprint?

This calculator returns the chart itself: placements, houses, aspects, and balances. A full Birthprint adds numerology and a written synthesis of the patterns that recur across both systems.
